It’s difficult to tell you when is the best time of year to plan your visit to our historic bed & breakfast in Holland, Michigan. Coming when Lake Michigan is warm as you wade along the Holland beach is great, of course. Holland is a vibrant resort community buzzing with activity in summer, a great destination.
Spring is synonymous with tulips here! You’ve surely heard of our annual Tulip Time Festival in early May where the entire city participates in honoring Holland’s bulbs. Book early. We usually fill up. But the weeks proceeding it and following it are also wonderful times to visit as the flowering trees welcome you with a glorious display.
Autumn in Holland, Michigan? You bet! Make our shoreline city one of your stops as you take a color tour of Michigan or visit farm markets to sample our state’s agriculture bounty. The crisp air and bright maples rival New England without all of the high prices. Take trails through colorful forests, dine in uncrowded restaurants, and shop where merchants greet you warmly. The lakeside towns of west Michigan are slow to cool as Autumn arrives. Lake Michigan keeps us warm until at least November.
Is winter a good time to visit Holland, Michigan? Maybe not for snow birds who prefer their southern retreats, but those of us who enjoy the landscape of drifting snow and evergreens, you simply cannot beat it. Towns don’t disappear when the snow flies. They get cozier, people huddle up with comforting cups of cocoa or fireside dinners. Bonnie’s Parsonage 1908 Bed & Breakfast remains open all year and glows with hospitality in every season.
